Upper Braddons Hill Road

Torquay

Directions

Approach by driving to the seafront, then continue into the centre of Torquay with the sea on your right. You will pass the marina, then turn left at the clock tower (signposted Kent’s Cavern), drive up the hill (the museum is on your left) then before the sharp right bend, turn left into Braddons Hill Road East. Nearly there! Proceed up the hill, take the second right at the top into Upper Braddons Hill Road, follow the road around and then take the second entrance on the right through the green gates into Greythorpe House.

The first person to shout ‘I can see the sea!’ during your drive into Torquay gets to choose their bedroom!

Welcome!

We are delighted to welcome you to Thorpe Lodge, and to the beautiful Torbay area where we’ve chosen to make our family home. We trust you will have a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and we hope you will find everything you need to make your visit as comfortable and special as possible.

We are keen that we respect each other’s privacy – don’t worry, we won’t collar you with a grilling on where you’ve been for the day! However, we are literally next door and adore meeting new people, so we will, of course, be happy to help if you have any questions. Just come and ring our doorbell or call or text us on 07513 054400 or 07934 603177.

Welcome Pack

You will find a welcome pack consisting of milk, bread, butter, jam, marmalade and eggs.

Also, the basics such as tea, coffee, salt, pepper, sugar and oil can be found in the kitchen.

You may also come across an essential bottle with which to toast the start of your holiday!

Keys and Locks

Please place the keys in the KeySafe next to the front door when you go out and at the end of your stay when you leave. No more panicky searching through sand for keys at the end of a beach day!

To lock the front door, you just need to lift the handle.

Facilities

Kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped and hopefully you will find everything you need. Again, do holler if we’ve missed something – we’re on hand to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Waste

The wheelie bin and recycling bins are to the left of the garage. Please would you kindly place household waste in the black bin. All paper/plastic/cans go in one of the recycling bins and bottles/cardboard/cartons in the other recycling bin. We’re working hard in Torbay to make our waste impact as light as possible, and thoroughly appreciate your help.

Washing/laundry

Please feel free to use the washing machine, washing liquid is provided. An iron and ironing board are located in the cupboard under the stairs together with an airer.

Cleaning materials

We would really appreciate your leaving Thorpe Lodge as you found it, though we don’t expect you to do a thorough clean! You’re on holiday! The cupboard under the stairs has a Dyson, a mop, bucket and broom, and cleaning materials are available under the sink in the kitchen. Thank you!

Shower rooms/loos

There is a bath towel and hand towel for each guest. Please resist taking these towels to the beach, it’s an impossible task to get them whiter than white again.

Spare loo rolls are in the cupboard under the stairs and cleaning products are in each bathroom. There is shower screen clean for those who enjoy using a squeegee as much as we do!

Bedrooms

We have one king size and two double beds. The second-floor double is a memory foam mattress. The beds are made up with 1000 thread count cotton linen. There is a choice on each bed of feather/down pillow or hypo allergenic pillow and super-douper duvets that should aid sweet dreams. You will find additional blankets in each room, should you be visiting us when there’s a chill in the air.

Please feel free to use all hanging areas and drawers – the space is entirely yours.

There is a hairdryer in each of the first and second floor bedrooms.

Courtyard

Feel free to relax in your courtyard - the sound of laughter is as good as a five-star review! A barbecue and giant Jenga are available for you to use and enjoy. Both are stored in the external cupboard adjacent to your front door, along with cushions for the pretty bench.

Should your stay coincide with fig season, you are welcome to help yourself to the abundant fruits hanging from the tree at the rear of the courtyard! Sharing your creative fig recipe ideas would be a treat for us!

Television

The smart TV is connected to the internet, so you should be able to stream from your chosen content provider. Please ensure that you logout of your streaming account before you leave.

WiFi

There should be a strong signal throughout the building; you will see boosters plugged into the electrical sockets in the upper bedrooms and the sitting room.

The passcode is H8EHGHEJHH

Pure Radio

The radio in the sitting room can be used to stream music from your phone or tablet, it will also play CD’s.
